Moving was a pretty massive undertaking for both of us. For me, it took what felt like forever (and was really only 5 days) of packing boxes and taking apart furniture, while also touring around Boston with Dad and my niece, Becca. And it ended up like this, a very full 7.5' by 9.5’ storage unit:
And what began as a lived in studio became the sad, white box it once was.
Thanks Dad and Becca for helping me move and Sam and Jon for helping me paint!

This was the first time in the last 7 moves that I did not have a moving company pack and move my belongings. What I thought was going to be a 3-4 day packing adventure of my 3 bedroom home turned into a 8 day packing extravaganza and a bit of madness as I played Tetris with all my favorite belongings to best utilize the space in my 10 x 15 storage unit.
I want to sincerely thank Jay for his excellent packing and organizing and kind patience in helping my complete this moving project.

Of course, that wasn’t all of our belongings, because today we left the US for 5 months and 19 days, and won’t be back until December! So when it came to planning what we would be bringing with us… It’s safe to say that our eyes were bigger than our suitcases. After a few times of packing and unpacking, we whittled our ‘piles’ of clothing down to this:
I’m sad to say that not all of the above made it, but we only actually left behind a few shirts, a cardigan, and the clothes we will only be wearing in Botswana.
