As of 2:30pm Eastern Standard Time, June 22, 2014, we have officially departed from the US. Not quite US airspace, but gone none-the-less. Now we’re in Hong Kong for a pretty quick layover before leaving for the next leg of our flight to Singapore.
One of the scariest parts about getting all of this ready was figuring out how we are going to live out of a suitcase for the next 169 days. Well we figured it out. Sort of.

It was only a little painful getting it all to fit in those tiny tiny bags, but we did it!
We left from Asheville at 5:30am to get to the Charlotte airport, and as we drove off and the sun rose looking all beautiful and red, it seemed like an omen (good or bad is still TBD):
And we owe a huge thank you to Mary and Joe for letting us stay at your home while we were homeless and driving us all the way to Charlotte early in the morning!
